Happy Wednesday! Today’s installment of our occasional series of Junk Bonanza team profiles is Jane Hall!
Meet our longtime exhibitor manager, Junkin’ Jane — her love of vintage, eye for the unusual and tireless work are essential contributons to the Bonanza’s success!
Name:
Jane Hall
Born and raised:
Minnesota. As a youngster I rode my horse in land that is now the St. Paul suburb of Woodbury.
Place you now call home:
Carver, MN, but in the process of searching out new digs in the Twin Cities!
Job
you do when you’re not working on Bonanza:
Mustard Moon Vintage retail shop. I am part of the Midwest visual team and an American Greetings card merchandiser. (Jane is known for her fabulous retail display! Who can forget her entire wall of trunks, pictured, at one Fall Bonanza in Minneapolis?!)
Been with the Bonanza since:
2006. Day One! (Jane and Ki met when Jane was working as a manufacturer’s rep and Ki operated stores selling women’s clothing!)
Favorite Bonanza memory:
Distributing rain bonnets to vendors after the rain storm at one of our first shows, in Medina, MN, as well as giving out matches and candles when the lights went out, too!
Favorite leisure activity:
junking with my husband (believe it or not)
Guilty pleasure:
dark chocolate with sea salt
(Jane is known for having the TSA check out her bags after they go through the airport scanner! While junking at the Rose Bowl flea in Pasadena a few years back, pictured above, Jane purchased about 20 alarm clocks. That made for an interesting time at LAX!)
What book is on your bedside table:
“The Shipping News” by E. Annie Proulx
On your junking bucket list:
a trip to European flea markets
You can read more about Jane and the Bonanza team, here! We look forward to seeing you at the next three JB shows! Minneapolis SEPT 22-24, Portland OCT 14-15 and early next year in San Diego, FEB 17-18!
