It’s been two days of amazing junk love at Junk Bonanza #sandiego! We’re going to break our recap into at least two posts, because we have a lot of photos to share! We started the show off while it was still dark outside — 6AM Friday when Heather Lake of Fox 5 San Diego arrived for live shots.

That’s our announcer, master appraiser Tim Luke, sharing the good word about Bonanza in front of the Atomic Rust booth!

We loved seeing our name in license plates! Thanks to Upcycled Works for those beauties…

… and these!

Anything Rustic had everything right with this display!

People say books can be illuminating, and Junk Style Design had its own take on that idea!

sfri6

Relics Reimagined had some sweet pieces, too. Love the way this vacuum cleaner part and wooden tennis racket frames found new purpose!

sfri7

Do you know what this was before it became a coffee table?!

Redhead Sadie Vintage’s booth was filled with exuberant, retro goods!

Her pins were Spring in a jewelry box!

sfri12

Vintage Kantha quilts from Kismet Designs dazzled!

An oil-painted matron kept careful watch from Last Vestige’s corner!

Ki and Celeste signed the new Spring copies of their Flea Market Style mag both days…sfri30

Paint & Paddles taught hands-on painting workshops twice daily …

ssat40

… our partner Tinker Tin Trailer Co. brought two vintage trailers — a cool photo booth and the “Roll-O-Vend” for a lounge area …

ssat2

… and the “Get Lucky” drawings were a big hit with shoppers! Junk Bonanza held drawings for 20 $25 coupons to be redeemed for merchandise in the booths of the winners’ choosing!

Doors closed at 5PM today — Ki thanked our talented and tireless vendors for their fab product and a rocking good show!

ssat35

They started breaking it down. It’s always amazing to see what gets built in a few days…and disassembled in a few hours!

Through it all, our vendors kept smiling!

ssat37

What’s load out without a little bit of rain? It was the least of all we had during the show!

And then…almost as quickly as it started, the wet yet wonderful few days that were JB #sandiego drew to a close.

But luckily for us, we’ve got memories. And photos!

Stay tuned for Part 2 when we’ll mine our days-old archives for booth shots!

Team Junk Bonanza is heading back to their respective posts — Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago and Cape Coral — and our fabulous vendors are heading on to their next gigs.

Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram  @junkbonanza. We’ll let you know the show dates once they’re set for San Diego next Spring and Portland in the Fall. And if you’re up for a road trip, come see us in Minnesota! Our amazing Minneapolis vendors will be rocking Canterbury Park APRIL 20-22 and SEPT 21-23!
