Wow! We asked, you provided!
We put a call out for fiber arts fans to knit or crochet pink and orange flowers for a “winner’s wreath” for the the yarn bomb project for Junk Bonanza April 21-23 in Minneapolis! Our installation artist, Knitteapolis, received more than 100 flowers — all patterns, and in all shades — for the life-size horse that will greet attendees beginning Thursday!
Knitteapolis has been working since January on the yarnbomb of the life-size horse structure that Canterbury Park uses at the racetrack!
On Monday, she’ll put it all together — we can’t wait for you to see it when you arrive!
(Here’s a sneak peek from one of the horse’s “fittings” earlier this month!)
Sending a special thanks to those who generously provided their time and creativity for this project (and to those of you who shared your names):
@3kittensneedlearts, the LHUMC Knitting Group, @suregal27, @haitchchamp, @forlulagirl, @kelpek, Wendy B., Rebecca D., @anette.rosemarie, @noeysmum, @mobiusgirl, @lorriwt @stepbackink and many (publicity-shy) others!
We invite Bonanza-goers to Instagram photos of themselves in front of the horse with the #YarnBombTheBonanza hashtag. Knitteapolis will select the photographer of one photo each day to win a Bonanza T-shirt and a hand-knit item from her!
Follow our Facebook page and Instagram for updates!
See you in four short days!
