@junkbonanza #sandiego welcomes ModernMuse61!

Rosario Melinda Hoffman

Business name:

Live in/Business located:
San Diego, CA

Your style in three words:

On your junking bucket list:

bottleland in Gallup NM. it’s an abandoned dump, and when it rains the water cuts little gulleys to expose layers of buried treasure…mostly bottles

You knew you were a junker when…

…as a kid I started collecting junk found in vacant lots, alleys, and gangways in Chicago.

Best all-time junking find:

a pair of really odd glasses from “the never open store” in West Hollywood. It literally is NEVER open. But the junking gods were with me when I saw the door open and the owner let me in… I felt like Charlie with the golden ticket!!!

You wish you would never have parted with…

…there is a time to hold, and a time to let go… don’t hoard. collect for inspiration, then pass it on to spread the junk karma…

Bringing to the Bonanza:

Everything I make has to come from something, has to tell a story, to evoke a memory, has to encourage conversation… I’m bringing people together.

You never junk without…

… the eyes of a child. There is beauty and wonderment in everything thru their eyes…I never want to lose that.

In your garage: cars or junk?

I don’t have a garage, but I have a ’92 acura integra 2-door hatchback that I manage to carry EVERYTHING for my shows AND my leather workshop…I never unload it. Ibasically live and work out of my car!

No one would ever guess your…

…nationality. When someone asks me “what are you anyway”, I say I’m  human just like you. but mostly I take it with a sense of humor!

Your junking holy grail:

Right now it is architectual salvage, outdated hardware, used tack shops…

Junking makes you feel…

… so excited, I wanna pee
