Junk Bonanza opening day finally arrived, and it was early! FOX9-TV’s Brad Burgess was at Canterbury Park’s Shire Square by 5:30 a.m. to get the satellite tower going!
FOX’s M.A. Rosko and Chip Elmquist began their live shots at 6:40 a.m. Here’s Bonanza operations manager Krista Belle Mickelson sharing the JB scoop for TV viewers!
The Early Bird line was full of smiling, happy peeps!
Lots of bright junk filled the aisles!
Great stuff everywhere you turned!
Spring was definitely in the air and in the booths!
There was a style for everyone!
It was difficult to not see something you wanted to take home with you!
We loved the “Early Bird” windup toy!
(so much so, we collaged him twice!)
This gorgeous tabletop was created by Heather Dempsey of inspiredbyheather.com and Clare Hoelderle of Avonlea Farm and Red Bench Vintage Event Rental & Design. Their sessions show how to use vintage elements to best effect for spring celebrations!
Loved the golden farm animals and succulent place card holders!
This cutting board became a great menu board!
They spoke at 1 p.m. and will do so at the same time Friday, and at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday!
Meanwhile, Annie Sloan stockist Amanda Ficek, of Mama’s Happy, was sharing the skinny on Chalk Paint® and other decorative finishes to free, hands-on morning and afternoon workshops. She will repeat those today and Saturday! We are thankful for our Gold level partner, Unfolded, a distributor for Annie Sloan, for providing this fabulous workshop!
Author/Editor/Stylist Fifi O’Neill was here to sign copies of her new book, “Prairie-Style Weddings”!
Lots of lucky attendees went home with glue kits, thanks to our generous contributor, Gorilla Glue!
KSTP home and garden expert, Larry Pfarr, shared ideas for potting and floral display to packed crowds!

Larry shared a fun moment with Nancy and Connie, happy Junk Bonanza attendees!
There was no end of shopping, until sadly, it was the end!
All day long, junk came in and out! And then we got to do it all over again today!
Watch for those photos, coming soon!
Have you been out to Canterbury Park yet?
Last day tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, 9-5. Hope to see you there!
