We asked Jen Campbell, whose popular and comprehensive Green Wedding Shoes website is the Bonanza’s promotional partner, to weigh in with her fun wedding insights! Her responses:
1. What’s it like blogging about weddings?
I love sharing love stories of our couples as well as all the special details and touches for their day. The creative elements, flowers, fashion + love…it’s seriously the best!
2. What is the coolest wedding “twist” about which you’ve written?
I think one of the biggest trends right now is small, styled elopements. Couples who want a gorgeous and special day but not so much drama. The best part about these elopements is with a small guest list they can really take place anywhere — on a mountaintop, near a waterfall, on a bridge, on an iceberg — the possibilities are endless! 3. What do vintage touches add to a wedding?
This is a great detail for so many of our couples. They can thrift amazing pieces from their travels or family heirlooms to use on their wedding day and then use those pieces again in their home! I love how they can be repurposed.
4. Your blog has amazing DIY decor ideas. What is your favorite?
Such a hard one! Our DIY section is one of our most popular…probably my favorite is this DIY Flower Wall we made – it was SO pretty!! And this Giant Paper Rose DIY (which we shared in January 2012) is still the most popular post almost every month!!
5. Did you wear green wedding shoes?
Yes 🙂 The name actually came to me since back in 2008 when I got married, wearing shoes that weren’t white for your wedding was seen as pretty crazy (hard to imagine now, right?!) and I thought the name symbolized that our site would be all about encouraging couples to do their own thing for their wedding day. There are no rules. Just create a day that is meaningful to the two of you (whether that means running off and eloping, DIYing your entire wedding or working with some of the top talent in the wedding industry for a one-of-a-kind day) and it will be a perfect day!
