Christine Schaffer of Hastings (Minn.) Gift, Garden and Floral is making her first Junk Bonanza foray.
Find her store: on Facebook.
Specializes in: rural and garden finds with an “odds and ends” section in the store devoted to her passion.
Got her start: As a little girl, helping in her mom’s antique store and attending auctions.
Bringing to the Bonanza: Treasures unearthed from the depths of her storage barn.
Best junking find: A kerosene can and crate cupboard in Australia. “It was really rustic and at the time no one even understood it. Later it sold to an Aussie aristocrat when the primitive Australiana look became popular.”
You would never guess: She antiques on her motorcycle and if she wants something badly enough (that won’t fit on the bike), she’ll drive a car/truck/trailer back for it.
One thing we know about junkers, they are a resourceful lot. Have you found any Australian aristocrats lately?! Get ready to discover the mother lode of resources…in just three short days!
