The Junk Bonanza has a great tracker record for renewing most vendors from year-to-year and booth reservations fill up fast! But for a variety of reasons, there are always a few junkers who decide not to return the following year which leaves room for new vendors!

Can you imagine the pressure and excitement of being a first-time vendor at the Junk Bonanza?

It sounds like first-timers, “How Quaint” from Shakopee, Minnesota and “Vintage Home & Garden” from New Virginia, Iowa are bringing fabulous treasures we will all want to check-out!

Teresa and Paul Werner own “How Quaint”, an occasional shop that is open just four days a month in Shakopee, Minnesota. They got their start in the junk business by selling their painted and refinished garage sale finds. Deb Haupt (see previous post) shopped one of their large yard sales and invited them to be a dealer at her shop, Haupt Antiek. Teresa and Paul attended the Junk Bonanza last year for the first time and were surprised by how many dealers there were!

Shoppers can expect to find many primitive items in How Quaint’s booth including, a 6foot by 5 foot pea green and cream colored cupboard they call “Green Piece”. How Quaint will even have an outhouse for sale! Perhaps a Junk Bonanza first?

Beth Voltmer, owner of Vintage Home & Garden, is also a first time vendor this year. Beth was inspired to go into the antiques business after reading a newspaper story about a Minneapolis store that held monthly occasional sales. Inspired, she purchased a building, renovated the upstairs into a loft-style apartment and now hosts once-a-month sales thru October, then every Saturday until the week before Christmas.

Beth says she will be bringing one-of-a-kind items to the Junk Bonanza focusing on her new interest in industrial and urban country looks. Beth collects green rooster, Poppytrail California pottery and she also loves to repurpose vintage items. Beth is a very busy junker, in addition to expanding her store and hours, remodeling her husband’s childhood home (hoping to run it as an inn someday), Beth is a full-time realtor!

Please plan to visit and support these first-timers at the Junk Bonaza 2010 – only 104 more days!

See you soon!
Jill
