We love that Barnaby is still excited, after four years at the Bonanza, by telling the story of the ball bearings that sold like the proverbial hotcakes! Behold, Barnaby!
Jerry and Kris Barnaby
Lives in/Business located:
Eden Prairie, MN
This will be Bonanza vendor appearance:
The things we love: enamelware, ironstone, tinware, folk aret and homey/farm-y pieces with character.
Favorite activity besides junking:
Jerry: Word-based activities such as Scrabble or Words with Friends, crossword puzzles and reading.
Kris: Zumba-ing, cooking and putzing around the house.
Would save if the workshop were on fire:
Jerry: Depending on how she’s feeling about the clutter, Kris might be tempted to fan the flames.
You knew you were a junker when:
Jerry: I found our house had somehow filled up with “treasures.”
Kris: I married into it
Three words that describe you:
Jerry: Analytical but creative
Kris: Social, energetic driver
Three words that describe your product:
Homey, quirky, well-loved
If you couldn’t be a junker, you’d be an:
Jerry: attorney who supervises two teams of analysts for a legal publisher
Kris: account director for a business improvement company
When you found it, you knew it would sell immediately:
Jerry: I was at a farm auction and among the rows and rows of sale items was a large bucket of ball bearings. I knew I had to get them, so I was delighted when my high bid of $5 won out. I hauled the heavy bucket to the van, got it home, and degreased the 500-plus ball bearings. They were a huge hit at JB, as we let customers scoop them into brown paper sacks.
We think Barnaby’s cool stock is the stuff you don’t hide in a brown paper bag!
Can you barely wait until the Bonanza is here?
