Did you have a great time at the Junk Bonanza?
If so, send a great big thanks in part to Emily Nordstrom, the Bonanza’s Operations Manager and number cruncher extraordinaire!
She handles tasks from taping the blue lines to keeping the books to dealing with the State of MN Department of Revenue. She liases with Canterbury Park to make sure everything is in its spot (the garbage cans are emptied, there is TP in the loo and the heat gets turned up or down when requests are made!), takes the heat from the Fire Marshall when dealers accidentally spread beyond said spots, and heads the unloading and loading scenarios!
She makes sure everyone’s got electricity and, in the no-task-is-unimportant department, she spells the front desk workers so they can take their lunch breaks!
Em also runs point on technology, keeping your humble scribe up to date on tech short cuts and teaching me new apps along the way!
Remarkably, Em does all of this with a smile on her face and her signature laugh.
It takes a lot of behind-the-scenes work from a lot of people to make the Bonanza go, and Em is one of them!
Ki’s second in command is already hard at work making plans for smooth operations during Canterbury’s next construction project!
Emily, you are the quintessential manager and organization par excellence!
