vig5What an amazing day for Ki and team Junk Bonanza in San Diego yesterday at the Vignettes Valentine Day Soiree!

It was a beautiful, sunny day in the Ocean Beach Antique District!

Vignettes owner Lori Chandler and her 28 dealers had dressed her fabulous Newport Avenue store to the max for the Valentine Day event, including Ki’s appearance to promote Junk Bonanza!

Lori may be diminutive but her style and talent are way oversized!

We especially loved the pink and white shortbread cookies!

It was a great welcome!

Bonanza San Diego vendor Robin McKeirnan of Vintage Beach House is a Vignettes vendor!

Robin, Daniel and Karen worked tirelessly to make the event a success! Robin’s booth was the area where Ki’s meet-and-greet happened. Daniel is Vignettes’ social media maestro and indispensable shop guy! Karen’s Cafe Paperie is a Vignettes vendor (see her gorgeous faux paper flowers in the first image below!) They are amazing!

That amazing blue Murano glass chandy was in Barbara Gray’s Cottage White booth — another fab JB San Diego vendor. We loved all of the “frosting” we say throughout the day. Those pincushions in the lower right are made from salt cellars!

It was a fun afternoon! Ki did a meet and greet and gave away signed back copies of her Flea Market Style best-of decorating magazine.

Christie Repasy of The Vintage Marketplace  at Galway Downs show (March 11-12!) stopped by to say hi!

Bling and beauty were everywhere!

Lots of fun details! Hanging cherubs, an astroturf heart mat, an amazing wooden Ferris wheel and a display case of pretties done up in Tiffany box blue!

Attendee Vika J. of San Diego doesn’t drive, and wanted to let us know how motivated she is to get to the show on Friday! She has purchased her Early Bird ticket already — to use it, she will take a bus downtown to catch the express bus to UCSD, then take a North county bus up the 101 to near the Del Mar Racetrack. She said she will need to walk around the training detracts and down the hill to the fairgrounds to get to Bonanza.

The 2.5 hour trip will be worth it to her, she said!

We love our motivated shoppers!

The Bonanza and Vignettes gave away five pairs of Early Bird tickets to lucky winners! You can order yours, here, if you like! They’re good for two hours of prime shopping on Friday before the doors open to general admission, and can be used to get in Saturday, too!

We find Minnesotans anywhere we go! These two expats — John, Lori’s husband, and Emily, were enjoying the event. Emily is one of our San Diego vendors, too — Auntie Nee Nee’s Whimsies. She is also the mom of MyTalk 107’s Alexis in the Morning back in our home base of Minneapolis!

As we always say: it’s a small, small junking world!

Full steam ahead to Junk Bonanza San Diego! Ki and the team can’t wait to see you all at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday!
